Barring any last minute change, an Abuja High Court will today arraign the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar over alleged corruption. Danladi will be arraigned before the Chief Judge of the court, Justice Ishaq Bello.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, last week filed a two-count charge of fraudulent act against Umar on grounds that he demanded a bribe of N10 million from one Rasheed Taiwo in 2012 in relation to a pending Charge before him, an offence contrary to Section 12 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2003.
The alleged bribe was said to have been received by Umar through his Personal Assistant , Gambo Abdullahi.
Danladi currently presides over the false asset declaration case against Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
